The love for a truck.

I was away this past weekend at Penn State University for a swim meet. i drove up with my mom, and did not take my truck. after driving around in a van for most of the weekend i came home and found my 95 ford f-150 sitting in the drive way. i then learned the love between a man and his truck. When i drove it for the first time again. just hearing that engine...it was so great. i love my truck!!

" I'm a ford truck man. Its what i drive!"

I hear ya. I feel like I have to justify to people why I love my 1989 F-250 4X4. Most folks are happy with driving a new Camry or Malibu, and don't understand the older vehicle fascination, or the truck obsession. But driving down a country road with a big American V8 purring along, and the windows wide open and radio blasting, is a great feeling. You can't get that from a Nissan Sentra or a Jeep Cherokee!

yeah, i hear ya, too. i bought mine as a second vehicle to my 02 ford focus. i had driven nothing but ford trucks prior to the focus, and after driving a compact for 3 years, i missed the truck. every morning i go out to get in a vehicle for work, and i just CAN'T make myself take the focus. i just love the truck too much!

Anyone who wants to debate which vehicle is better than another really is just justifying their own purchase through social validation. Nothing wrong with a sentra or a corolla or whatever people want to buy that makes them happy. Me, I like project vehicles, and tinkering, and experimenting, and so forth. But to be fair to my wife, we try to keep at least one new or fairly new vehicle in the driveway. My wife isn't into driving around with 300 wires hanging off the firewall.

I've received quite a few comments about "Superbumper", and often asked "why". My response is always the same... "because I wanted to!".

And those who have made snippy comments in reply to that, are invited to help test superbumper, by standing in front, facing away, grabbing their ankles, and saying "okay" when they are ready. So far, no takers .

Well frederic.... i applaud your effort, and if you like it thats awesome. But super bumper looks like a bumper off of a push vehicle at the race track. IMHO it looks silly. But whatever floats ur boat good buddy!

I drive a VW golf to and from work (60 miles round trip). It's a nice car with a little zip, excellent gas mileage, and low maintainence. When I'm home I drive my truck around town. When I have extra gas money I drive the truck to work and for some reason I am happier at work that day. I agree, nothing like driving down the road with american muscle. Cant be beat.

Things I love about driving my Ford..
1: I can SEE over most cars, esp the idiots who only scrap a 1ft wide patch on their windshields in the middle of the winter.
2: 4x4. enuf said
3: Great visabiltiy, I can see all around great and the headlights give the best spread of any car I've ever driven
4: The Seats. They are like sitting in a real chair not a beach lounge chair.
5: Vent window. Who needs air... we've nicknamed this the crotch cooler...LMAO
Its one thing I really miss in new cars.

Cheers,
Tim

Sadly, I wouldn't get much change from a $100 bill...
I think gas is down again to 2.58. I'll know more thursday when I'll need to get some

Ultimately, that's what it's for

And gas is down to 2.29 here. Still painful.
