hi all new to this site just got a 94 f250 with 460 4in susp 3body lift 35 bf muds
i get about 10 mil to the gal motor is stock need to know what all can do to get better milage. new to fords need help big block is breaking my pocket
With 7" of lift, 35" tires, and a big block, I wouldn't complain too much about 10mpg. There are things you can do, but it's still a big heavy truck with a big motor and the aerodynamics of a building.
About the only thing you can do is tune up everything to the N'th degree. Aside from that, headers are the only bolt-on I can think of that would help. And they should also noticeably increase your power.
Your 35's have already effectively changed your gearing. Any change in gear is going to kill your power even more. Face it, you are running about the single most fuel inefficient combo you can imagine. As was said before, I'd be thrilled to be getting the economy you are now. Any increases you might see will be, at best, incremental (on the order of maybe 1-2 mph at most).
The only way to improve your mileage dramatically is to ditch the mudders, go back to an all season radial, and drop your gearing down to somewhere in the 3.25-3.50 range.
You can put on the K&N system if you want, but I personally woudln't waste my money. I have cleaned the dust out of too many intakes to trust my vehicle to a K&N. A clean paper filter will flow sufficiently for your stock engine and will filter far better than the K&N.
