My truck sits about 1/2 in lower on the drivers side then the passenger side. How do I correct this? Is it easy to do or should I take it to the stealership to have them do it? Would it be covered under my warranty? 2002 F250 4x4, 58,000 miles.
It has been this way since I bought it but it starting to bother me now.
Are you measuring from the control arms to the frame? Ive never looked at mine. Hey Fireman Im back in town and leavin for Baton Rouge once again about wednesday. I dont know when I can drop some oil off for you to test. How much would you like and what do you want me to pay ya? Went down to western oil and bought as much bio as I could to top off my tanks. 17 gallons on the main tank and over 25 percent on my 80gal reserve tank. Have to pull the puter brain out today and clean it for my chip to install. Talk to ya later. Have your number from our fellow phoenician as well as the mech he refered me to.
Yep mine too - it never really bothered me, but when I put my add-a-leafs on it brought it to within a 1/4 inch side to side difference. I bet the stealership would laugh at you if you went in and asked if it was under warranty!
watch, they would probably say that the difference in side to side height is because the extra power i added with the tuner actually tweaked the frame and now it isnt straight. but the thing is, my left side is lower than the right, and in all of the clips of pulls i see, the left side lifts up from frame torque so much, they have to put 5-600 pounds on the left side.
Seems all fords 80 to present have this problem!! I plan to add front and rear add-a-leafs this winter break to help this. I've heard of people making blocks to put between the driver side rear leaf pack and block too. What I want to do is cut down the left bottom base leaf to the same size as the block, and use that as the spacer. it's about 3/8 inch and should be just about perfect.
Cool thanks for the info guys, Kennedy yeah give me a call whenever we can hook up on the oil I will test it for you no prob. Just need a dropper full or so, to test it.
most of the reasont the trucks are low on the drivers side is the fuel tank i would quess. in my case it cause i'm too fat. well i quess it doesn't help. about the only fix that i can think of it a add aleaf that really is just a shim. maybe a sping shop could make you a shim from the corrct thinkness stuff and put a hole in it for you. you sould also use regular steel but spring steel seems to be strong and rust resistant.
Mine sat about 3 inches lower on the driver than passenger. Started to look under there and found that the lower spring in the spring pack was cracked dead center over the axel. talked to a local shop and they said it was fairly common. So I decided to put air bags on it anyway. More pressure in the driver side levels it out quite nice. And it actually made the truck ride better empty with about 10 psi in the driver and 5 in the passenger.
