Front rotor replacement

Hey guys sorry for the duplicate post. I've seen alot of discussion and frankly it went over my head so I wanted to see if you all could simplify it for me.
93 Full size XLT with 32 x11.50's still has the auto lockers on the front. I need to replace a front rotor.

Do I really have to dissassemble the whole front hub to get the rotor off, that whole 4 tab spanner wrench on the inner lock nuts, take out the bearings etc etc etc?

Or if I take the auto locker assembly out will a wide jaw puller pop that outer hub housing off without disturbing the inner hub stuff.

Oh and yeah, if I get to this I WILL be replacing the auto's with Warn premiums or Mile marker manuals, I'll do some searching on who reccomends what on THAT situation seperately. ;-)

Buy the Warns and start disassembling. You do have to take apart the hub to pull the rotor. Also, You will need to seperate the hub from the rotor once you have it off. But, you can also buy the hub/rotor assembly and not have to seperate the old ones. I did this with my 85 and it was an easy swap. Cost me about $70 each side.

Thanks.

Crap.

Is it just me or does it seem to anyone else that they could have done that a better way? Rotors wear out far faster than anything else, why not design it so it can come off more easily? GRRR.

They can be seperated easily......If you have the right tools. I just prefered not to bother with it. Since you have it apart, why not new bearings and seals too.

I used a 3 jaw gear puller to remove mine.

I just tapped the lugs out slowly and evenly and it came off without breaking. Tapped it back on with a hammer as well.

I did mine on my 95 awhile back. After 10 years, my abs rings did not want to come off easily.I asked my mech. friend and he said use a torch.A little heating and tapping on the studs and off thay came.I raplaced my rotors with x- drilled powerstop. What a difference, and while I had everything apart anyway, I did my ball joints, with good h-d ones.
