'83 F350 6.9 help
Ok so the other day my alternater went out, so I replaced it w/ a new one. That day I was driving down the highway (at night) when all of the lights (including all the dash lights) Came on REALLY BRIGHT, then eveything shut off. So I pulled over and I haven't got it running since. I'm guessing the voltage regulator went out causing a power surge. Since then I repaced all the fuses, a relay on the drivers side fender, a relay under the dash near the lighter, the voltage regulator, both Batt.
After all that the outside lights still won't come on (dash lights will), the lights where the "Wait to Start" lamp are won't come on, and the Engine turns over but won't start.
What could be the problem?

Do you have any extra lights like spot lights on the front that were on at the time the lights went out.........if so check your light switch and it's large connector.
As far as the starting No Go check for power at the IP fuel shutoff solenoid you may have a burned out fusible link. Try a 12v jumper to the FSS see if it starts, remember only way to shut engine down, is pull the jumper off.

OK so on further inspection:
-The Headlights and Taillights DO NOT work, BUT the FRONT turn signals work.
-Dash lights work
-The Radio DOES NOT work, BUT the blower motor DOES WORK.
-Engine turns over BUT DOES NOT START!
-On the Pannel where the "Wait to Start" & "Check Engine Temp" & "Water In Fuel" Lamps are, NORMALLY when I goe to start the truck ALL of those lamp come on at once when the starter engauges, BUT RIGHT NOW ONLY the "Check Engine Temp" lamp comes on when attempting to start.
I have replaced the fusable link over on the passenger side right next to the batt. But still NO IMPROVEMENT in my situation!!!

Have you looked at the two connectors on the pax fender one has a grey connector with a large Yellow wire and a smaller light color wire. These connectors will burn up and some members remove the connector and just solder the wires. The other connector is back by the heater/AC it has a multitude of wires in a large bundle it too burns up. The third would be under the brake booster a multi wire plug that the wire cover pulls back on and the wires short out, that one usually has different symptoms..like starter engaging when turn signals operated.......wierd. Check them out .

Starter solenoid on passenger side fender just cranks the starter, so it is OK.
The Wait to Start bulb is powered from the glow plug relay and grounds to the dash.
Either the bulb is toasted or you may have lost a ground under the dash.
Losing that ground might explain the radio not working also.
My 83 schematic shows headlight power leaving the starter relay on a black and orange wire.

you should be able to hear the shut off solenoid working with the key switch, on/off. have someone stand in front of the truck while you work the key to on and off or you stand in front while someone works the key. the top front wire on the injection pump is the on-off wire and you can also test it with a test light for power.

Crack a couple of injector lines to see if fuel is getting to injectors .You will have to turn the engine over to see this . If you have fuel pumping into the ip from the filter and none at the injector from the ip , then you have narrowed it down to an ip problem . Possibly the fuel shutoff solenoid .
