Ok I pulled the high pressure line of the top of the front drivers side injector, I turned the engine over an NO FUEL came out? BUT fuel DOES come out of the low pressure(return line) on the side of the injector. Does this mean my injection pump is bad?

There should be a little squirt of fuel coming out of the metal fuel line when you turn it over . Make sure your batteries are good and hot when you try it .

Have you tried starting fluid ? Dissable the glowplugs , then give it a very short spray . Less than a second should do . Try this and see what happens.

I tried starting fluid, no change.

Also when I went to get the price on a new I.P. at Autozone, they asked me if it is the high altitude version or not? On my Valve cover it says I have the A170 version, what does that mean?

Unless you are located at a high altitude like up in the Rockies, do not get the high altitude IP.
High altitude model has the fuel turned back and makes less HP. 158 at the flywheel.
The other one is 175.

Very well may be the ip . It's just hard to believe the alt started all this . I know a power surge can definately cause problems , but you are really having a hard time .It would be nice if you could try a working ip to see if this makes it run . Do you know anyone that might have one you could try ?

You may want to think that when u had the power surge that it may have fried the fuel-shutoff solenoid because of the higher voltage running to it. Therefore your not getting fuel.

Is your return line still hooked to the fuel filter?

When you said you have fuel coming out the return line but not the steel line I started thinking about the fuel all going back the return line instead of entering the injection pump.

There is supposed to be a check valve or little flapper that is supposed to prevent that from happening.

If its not kicking on ether you should prolly have the starter tested, how fast does it crank,it should see at least 200rpm on the starter when cranking.
