I'm looking to add some truck steps to my truck since it sit a little high with the factory lift. How much trouble are these to install? Not sure of the brands, but around here the steps that are the most popular look like the "Carr Hoop 2's". I also like these. I'm not stuck on this brand but I like the looks of these. Has anyone installed these type of steps before?
The Carr Hoops install with two holes on to door jamb. Just drill the two holes (watch out for the door seal) and bolt them in. I have had some in place for a few years. My wife uses her's daily and I use them occasionally. No problems for a basic step-up.
i have a set from Bully that install in a similar manner. i haven't put them on yet, though, bc i'm apprhehensive about drilling the holes. i really don't want anything showing in the cab. are there any brands out there that may work better for me?
I picked up a set of the Carr Hoop II's today. I will install them this next weekend. It looks like all hardware will be under the pannel you remove to install them. The guy at the 4X4 show I purchased them says it taked 30 min. a side. We will see about that. I'm thinking an hour a side. I will let you know.
I did mine in about an hour a side for the CARR HOOP 2's. I like them plenty and my short arsed bride wouldn't be able to get in the truck without them. I don't spend a lot of time clening them so they have tarnished a bit over the two years that they have been on. No problems after two years of daily use.
