We just couldn't handle any fruit punch, but we did find something with an umbrella!
I'll post more pictures of the show tomorrow - traffic was a real killer coming home and I am too beat to do them justice - but there were some nice trucks!
last picture speaks for itself, other than to say it was on a '44 ford stocker!
That man with the straw hat looks very familiar?????? If I recall I believe I saw his picture hanging at the post office...... or was it the back of a milk carton? Good show... I had a great day and got to meet some really nice people. The group from Pickups Limited were a bunch of great guys with tons of information on the old trucks.
Enjoyed meeting Ed, Ed & Clint. Great guys! Was a full day of sun, trucks and ideas. Learned a few things myself talking with Ed (imlowr2) on wood bed tricks. Nice truck Ed. I'll some of my picks later post pics later tonight.
Yea, the show was a real eye-opener for me. There are a lot of customs out there, and the pickups really stood out in an elite crowd. It is also a bunch more fun to go with a group, and to participate.
You also learn a lot. Simple things that you would never think to ask until you have inspected a truck - and compared it to other trucks just like it. For instance, almost all the trucks have there exhaust outlets cut into the bottom of the running board. I would not have done that for fear the heat would bubble the paint - but here you had 5 examples, none of which had a problem.
You also learn alot just listening to the general conversation, and the questions from the crowd.
So my suggestion is that everyone attend all the shows they can, even finding someone that you can tag along with that is participating if you can't.
Thanks guys, I haven't been around for a few days so I was glad to see you all had a good time, looking forward to more pics. Love the picture of the homeless guy with the Bud!!
Yes, it was a great time. It was really cool to put faces with the FTE guys, a lot of whom I only knew from our forum. Ed, Edd, Eddy and Edward were all there. (Sheesh! get a nickname!).
The umbrella was just for WillyB, who said he "didn't want to see no sissy drinks". We forgot the limes, but we laughed all day about Corona's with limes being a serving of fruit.
Cheers
(The homeless guy)

thanks for the pics, looks like a good time and a great day. Inspires me to keep on fabbin' I have been without a ride for too long. I NEED A ROAD TRIP!!!!!
Nice trucks! A friendly request to the guys with the broomsticks: If you can't figure out how to install a prop rod or gas cylinder, could you please at least paint it to match your truck?
AX, that broom stick your referring to is matching the oak in the bed of the truck. Or, the old wood???? If you look close, you'll notice that the end of the broom stick has a custom made billet cap which is knurled. The other is side is sloted and fits snugly on the radiator cover. Looks like the hood prop gets people's attention... LOL..... And I was thinking about doing the reverse hood kit. May have second thoughts now.
I also have a custom made one made of PVC and painted with custom Krylon gloss black paint which I use when working on the engine at home.
