hey guys
can anyone tell me if the dana 24 t-case is a direct swap with a NP 205??? the truck in question is an early 1977 F250 highboy. are there and driveshaft modifications that need to be addressed???

Nut, not sure about that. Which case are you taking out ? I would have thought your truck would have come with a NP205, and those are thought of as pretty indestructable. Why the swap ? DF

i agree that i NP case is pretty much indestructable. however, when i bought my truck, someone swapped out the NP case and put in the dana 24 instead. personally, i would prefer the NP case back in there. the way they have it rigged up seems kind of silly too. if you look at how the front driveshaft is connected, you can see the slip yoke splines? this leads me to believe the shaft is A)either too short or B) the wrong shaft??----- this is why i asked if the NP to dana case was a direct bolt in swap WITHOUT any other modifications such as driveshaft lengthening??
