I'm looking for the tightening procedures for the tie rod, drag link, and center link nuts.
I replaced these items and I can't find the specs to tighten them properly.
I Only snugged them to line up the cotter pin hole so far.
I measured the old linkage and adjusted the new one the same.
I just want to be safe when I drive it to the alignment shop.
Thanks,
Don

Ok I dont know the torque but since it is a castelated nut with a split pin, the bottom of the bolt hole should line up with the bottom of a castelation in the nut. As long as you have the proper nut. I will take a wild guess and say 50-60 ft/lbs should seat it correctly. Of course that value depends on the nut and bolt thread condition, how accurate your torque wrench is and how close my guess is
Anyhow that will get you safely to the alignment shop and they should know the right torque.
Better yet give then a call and ask them what the torque is before you go.
Thanks Sparky,
I got the same 50-55 number elsewhere.
I torqued them at 50# with my Snap-On wrench and then tightened them until the cotter pin hole lined up.
