I've been following the show for the past few months. I really enjoyed the way his career was going, with the Batista rivalary/friendship coming along and seeing Batista get him a lowrider a couple weeks ago. He will be missed by many.
These people are all actors. Many are more talented than other TV/movie stars. Are their performances in the rink real? How about their emotions when the camera rolls? I wouldn't bet my money on it.
I think that a tragedy like this is one of the few times you are allowed to see the human side of those entertainers. Chances are they are all just a great big family and take these things very seriously. think about it, these guys give their lives to this industry- they wrestle 300 days out of the year, in some cases- it seems like they would have to be a close knit group, whether they like each other or not on the screen doesn't matter during this time.

Eddy, RIP.
There were some, that were contrived. Certain others though. Like I posted earlier, Chris Benoit and Stephanie McMahon were both very genuine in their comments. You could cleary see that Stephanie was wearing make-up in an attempt to hide 'crying-bags' under her eyes.
I would imagine Chris Benoit was genuine. He goes waaaaay back with Eddie. Also some of the others that go back to WCW with Eddie. Actors, performer or not...they're still human and capable of real emotion. I saw a few, couldn't name any off the top of my head, that yeah I'd call BS but not most.

Ya no doubt in my mind Benoits emotion was genuine, and rey's,but i do however question triple H
I didnt get to see the show but I dont doubt any of them. When you work together for and are on the road together for most of the year and for years, you respect everyone there and I doubt any would wish death. I think some of you guys are buying into their characters too much.
I think we all know people in real life that have a hard time showing emotions, and when they are faced with a huge loss they can't express those emotions as easily as others, or in a matter that we believe. I think this is what is causing some people to say the performers are acting, when they just have a hard time expressing themselves.
I went to the website, the cause was heart failure, he died peacefully in his sleep:
Eddy's passing is sad. I feel for his friends and family. People show their sorrow and emotions in different ways. But what I find hard to understand is why go on camera, lose control and go on and on. That's probably where the performer comes out in them.
I seldom watched wrestling. But it always amazed me how some of them could stand in front of a huge crowd and talk so easily and so long. Without cue cards. They are real performers. Wrestling is just a small part of their act.
That little guy with the mask, anybody ever see his face?
As far as going on camera, I was thinking of the family members who have to explain this to the children, and I'm not sure of their ages, but when they are old enough to understand better in the future, they will have this video diary that captured how their father affected the people around him and how much he was loved and how much he loved those around them, and his love for life.
For all the footage that we saw of the performers expressing themselves in remembering Eddie, there is probably another 20 hours or more that we will never see that is just for family. If each wrestler spoke for 10 minutes, and it looked like a few spoke longer, how many wrestlers does WWE employ? Lots of personal footage to comfort the family in their difficult times and the times to come.
I think all the wrestlers are real performers, in that they only get one on-camera take to get it right. Movie/TV actors get as many takes as they need
Rey Mysterio, with his mask, I think that is more footage that was for the family only and why he took off his mask, so that the family only would see it.
The one thing I do NOT want to see, is WWE put out a DVD/VHS about Eddies career, just in time for the holidays. But maybe thats just me.
