Better tranny mount

I have a 1976 Ford F-250 Highboy with a 352 FE (not stock, swapped in), a NP435 4 speed, NP205 t-case, Dana 60 and a Dana 44 HD. This is the third time I've broken my tranny mount. The ones I get are from O'Reilly auto parts, they come with a lifetime warranty but it's a pain to keep changing them. Is there a aftermarket tranny mount that's high quality? The 352 was rated to 350 ft. lbs. of torque stock and I've done a few things to it. I'd say it's putting about 400 ft. lbs. through the transmission without the nitrous. I do run a 125 shot on her and so far the only weak link has been the tranny mount. Interestingly I've never broken the tranny mount while shooting the nitrous. It usually gives way after four wheeling through really rough broken terrain that flexes the truck hard. The nitrous gets used on the Saturday night cruise and while mudding.

Get out the tape measure, the saw, the drill, and the welder. You probably need to fabricate an all steel one. On second thought, if you do that I wonder what your new weak link will be? I bet that part doesn't come with a lifetime warranty. Hmmmm

If I had to venture a guess as to my next weak link it'd be the engine mounts. But I already have a chain back up wrapped around the frame and bolted to the engine.

I used to break the trans mount on my 70 SS (454, 500 hp plus) Chevelle all the time (at least once a couple times a year) when I put track tires on the rear at the drags. Summit made an all steel one for the TH400 (I found this out after I built mine), but I bet they don't have one for your tranny. PS: I wish I wouldn't have sold that car! You may be able to find one at one of those rock crawling sites. Good luck to you.

Hello FE Power,
How about some photos? I have the same year truck with a 390, C6 and NP203. Mine's a little rusty. I just like seeing those rust-free trucks from Texas.

Maybe rig up a custom sliding greased slot-style thing to allow the truck to flex?
