I am converting my manual brake 73 to a power set up. I have removed the brake pedal and master cylinder. I'm a little confused on the mounting. I picked up another brake pedal assembly, which has "pwr brake" stamped on the arm. I understand this pedal should work with the power booster. I have a new booster assembly and master cylinder. The booster assembly has two threaded screws or studs coming out of the back. I was thinking that the new brake pedal assembly would not be threaded so you would slide the booster through and then attach the mounting nuts. Well, all of the holes in the brake pedal assembly are tapped. The only way I see for it to work is to drill out the threads and the slide the booster studs through and attach the nuts. If this is a "pwr brake" pedal, then why would it have threaded mounting holes? Something that is also confusing me about this pedal is although it has "pwr brake" stamped on the arm, on the pedal itself it is stamped "man", which I would assume is maybe Manual transmission, not manual brake.
P.S. On the non power brake setup you just slide the two bolts through the master cylinder and they tighten to the brake pedal assembly.
Okay...I've done a little reading, or some re-reading of some posts on this site, and aha!, there seems to be a bracket that I need. Does anyone have or know of anywhere that I can get one of those brackets that the booster attaches too? Also, that still doesn't answer why I have "pwr brake" stamped on the arm, but on the pedal it is stamped "man".
