Exclamation ladder/trac bars?

ok, so ive got a 78 f250 custom, with a big lift, 42" swampers and wanted to see about getting some traction bars put under it, figuring it will help when towing and playin in the mud and sand. i figured since its a spring over, it would have more cause to have axle wrap up. i was wondering what you guys would suggest.. brand, kind? what about the front? should i put bars for the front too? it has dana60 front and rear. any help will be appreciated, thanks
George

I think that ladder bars are great on the beach and other flat surfaces, but they severely limit axle travel on uneven terrain. That, my friend, limits your traction. If you buy ladder bars, whatever you do, don't buy the cheap ones, they bend and break really easily. I know from experience. There is a better design out there than ladder bars, they use them on the baja 1000 super trucks. I think they are called track bars? They keep the axle where you want it and allow it to droop as needed. They will prevent any wrap up you are worried about as well. Anyway, I designed a set for my 79 toyota (basically copied a design I saw in a mag) with a 70 chevy 350 vette motor and these work way better than the latter bars I bought. They limit wrap up, which I had a great deal of due to really soft rock crawling springs, AND they allow full wheel travel. Just a thought
