I've had my 92 f-150 for about 2 years now, and have always driven with the O/D on, seeing as how the truck defaults to it when started. A few days ago, I drove around town with it off, and found that I had slightly more crisp throttle response, but when I let off the gas, my vac guage was showing about 5 in./hg. more than I usually pull with my foot off of the gas with overdrive on.
Basically, my question is this...
Do any of you ALWAYS drive without overdrive? Does it harm the trans or motor in any way after a lot of use? Besides high RPMs on the highway and higher vacuum, does the truck get more gas mileage, or less.... (probably less with higher RPMs, eh?)
