Hey I want to swap out my old rug (3 + 1 overdrive) tranny with a 92 C6? (its coming out of a 1992 E-350 with a 351. The truck I want to put in in is a 1980 ford E-100 with a 300 six will this work or is there some serouis modifications that will have to be made? Is the 92 tranny electronic? Thanks
289/300/302/351 all use the same bolt pattern on the Bell Housing & Block.
So as long as it's Not the Other 351, you'll not have any problems, unless of course Mrs. Murphy sticks her nose into the mix.
You'll also need to find a proper Fly Wheel & Torque Converter that is specifically for the 300c.i.er.
I've know clue about the Electronics Issue, mine is a '65-'72 series 300c.i.er & C-4 Tranny.
As I Stated Previously, "You'll Also Need To Find A PROPER Fly Wheel & Torque Converter That Is SPECIFICALLY FOR THE 300C.I.ER."
The 300c.i.er Fly Wheel is Neutrally Ballanced, in other words it has No Counter Weights on it & the Torque Coverter ALSO Specifically for the 300c.i.er, so in NO WAY are you able to use the Fly Wheels & T.C.'s off the 289/302/351c.i.ers, as they just WILL NOT FIT.

Do you know where I can get the fly wheel and torque converter? This van has 360,000 miles on it and me and by boss used it for work sometimes pulling over a thousand square foot of wood flooring and full load of tools in some of the steepest mountains on the east coast and never had any problems. It is sitting now because the brakes went(front rotors and pads) and he got a nice F-350 Super Duty Diesel that is even hartier than the E-350 by far. So I'm figuring that it is not a E4OD, can you tell if any of the 92 trannies will swap into my 1980 Ford?
