i have a 79 f-150 2 wheel drive was wondering if i could but the running gear of a 79 F-250 under it.since i cant swap cabs due to the wheel base differnce.another thing on the wheel base is not like but four inches different so why want it work if i extend the frame?Thanks Jeremy

The front of the frame on the 2WD is different from the front of the frame on the 4WD.
The wheelbase difference on the two frames makes no difference to the cabs - unless one is a Super Cab or Crew Cab and the other is a straight cab.
You can extend the frame. I would take it to a competent frame shop to do though. When you do this it is also going to take new d/s, brake lines, fuel lines, etc.

Go to the Petersons 4X4 off road web site, they have a 79 project 2X4 it has some good advice on how and what to do to convert over to 4x4. Hope this helps
