diagnostic code scanner

Can there be codes even if the cel doesn't come on?
What is the best scanner under $150.00?

Yes it can throw codes with out the CEL coming on. There are lots of scanners out there. Do you have OBDI/EEVIV or OBDII? Generally, OBDII scanners cost more than OBDI.

Harbor freight sells one for 40.00....I have not picked one up yet,but it is on the list of gotta have goodies....

Autoxray.com. I bought this 5 years ago for my EEC-IV and recently had it upgraded to read OBD-II also. Reads my 93 Explorer and 02 Durango and a 01 sport track today.
