Thumbs up 99 f-150

Hey all i'm new to this site and have some questions about my 99 5.4.

First of all has anyone been able to stop the driver side door alarm. it is really annoying when trying to work on the truck with the door open.

Second has anyone been able to take off the plastic bed rails, i want to replace with rails for a headache rack.

Third, has anyone tried to alter their fog light switch to run the fog lights whenever they want.

Let me know thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

on you first question, try squirting some lube into the door latchs this is where the micro switch located on the newer trucks and they tend to get dirty and stick, but spray it inbetween the door sheet metal and latch.

sorry can't help you with bed rails maybe someone will answer up on that one.

on the fog light swith , this has been done many times, search the tech articles on this...there are some good threads on this too, just use the search in this forum on this question.

Here a link that should help you out on the lights.

It is possible to defeat the driver side door alarm but it is quite dicey and not recommended for most.

Removing the plastic bed rails will not be pretty or easy.

Ultramagdan, is it cutting wires type stuff or preogramming? I was wondering the since the crown vics have "stealth mode", and the F150 was also used in Police work, if they might have it too?
