Hi I Have A 98 F-150 4x4 With An E40d I Recently Had My Tranny Rebuilt And I Asked Them To Put A 2800 Stall Converter In It And To Build Me A Trans That Would Hold Up When I Got The Truck Back It Seemed No Differnt And It Cost Me 2600 $ So I Called Him And Asked If The 2800 Stall Was Put In He Said That Billet Didnt Make A 2800 Stall That Prolock Was The Only Co. That Made Such A Converter And Told Me It Would Be 600 Dollars More Is This True I Was Charged 1200 For Parts And 1400 In Labor Is This Normal Or Is This Guy Shafting Me.

If you look through some of the older threads you will find out that seems high, where was the tranny rebuilt Ford dealler if so no wonder. It almost seems you could have bought a new tranny for cheaper, I could be wrong though. Did you check around with other shops to price compare. I wonder why he did not tell you up front that he could not install the 2800 stall converter or when he found out about it instead of having you call him to find out, something fisshy there if you ask me.
