efi manifold swap question

ok, i live in a state where i have to keep all emissions equipment working. i am doing a motor swap. i know efi manfolds can be used, my question before i go out and buy a set is, how do you mate up the efi manifolds with the intake. the bottom of my intake is open there was i beleive three bolts that held the exaust manifold to the intake, the bottom of the intake is open with a little flap that was controlled by vacuum to open for the egr. i know how to hook the tube up thats no big deal.... what has everyone else done with the hole in the bottom of the intake for the egr?

The butterfly in the OEM log exhaust manifold has nothing to do with the EGR. It is a heat riser for warm-up. and will close via abi-metal spring when the manifold heats up.

The space in the bottom of the intake can be left alone or make a plate to cover it and plumb water into it for a warmer manifold!

oh... so if i hook the heat riser tube that goes to the air cleaner duct to that, it might work the same way.
