Getting Codes?
I have a 96' F150, 302, auto, excab.
Just need to know is there any way that I can check for the codes on my truck without a computer. I had one of those other trucks at one time and could cross 2 holes in the comp plug and it would give me the codes for any problems. Can I do this on my truck?

No, you will need an OBDII scanner or visit a local auto parts store that will read them for free.
OBDII was mandated for all vehicles as of 96. A few models got it earlier.
The previous system, OBD-I, could be checked with a paperclip.
