Dog repellent

Does anyone know of a homemade or a really good off-the-shelf dog repellent? My dog keeps digging up my plants and chewing my shrubs. Any ideas??

Depending on the cost/value or damange to the plants - Shotgun. Seriously though, I've had luck making a hom made cyanne (sp?) pepper solution.

yea, i have used the cyanne pepper my self to keep the dog out of things...and if that doesnt work, shotgun...

cyanne pepper works well. then shot gun or reverse order if hassle is too much.lol

At Petco and Petsmart, they sell some granules called Repel, that works really well. I used to use it at my old house. I had a wood fence in back, and the neighbor's that lived behind us, had a big dog that would do his poop right up against their side of the fence. It wasn't a pleasant smell for us, while we sat out on our backyard patio. So we spread the granules up against our side of the fence, and it was strong enough that the dog stayed at least four feet away from the fence. I felt bad about it. But you do what you gotta do.

I have a dog that digs up holes in the yard where I have put new sand to build up the yard. We also have a nasty tom cat that has a disgusting selling potty box. I take the kitty litter after the cat pissed in it and spread it around the yard where I don't want the dog to dig and it seems to be working. I guess the amonia smell of the cat pee is too much for the dog.
