well, looks like we're almost in the same boat. i just bought a 79 f100 vin number f10gree9314. that's all i have. the door sticker was replaced when the previous owner repainted it but they didn't bother to put all the information on the sticker when they replaced it so i was wondering if you have any clue as to another place in the truck i might could find that information. the transmission code and axle codes etc. i have the original warranty card for the truck and know who bought it in 79 but that doesn't do me any good because that's all of the vin nbr that it has. it came with a 302 and was made in san jose but as far as the ee9314 i have no clue. any ideas?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-Mar-02 AT 07:08 PM (EST)]EE9314 just tells the month it was made.
Possibly Nov or Dec of 1978
Look under the seat or carpet for a build sheet.
If you tell me the colors of the thing I can give you the code for it.
Seats> Vinyl or knitted
Bench?
colour trim?

Look on the firewall above the air cleaner; sometimes there is a stamped steel plate called a body buck tag screwed on near that location. This will have most of the codes stamped into it.
alright well, i know the body probably isn't the same color as it was originally but right now, it's a metallic silver. the carpet is now grey but i can tell it was replaced. the dash cover and the metal parts are all a deep red. like maroon almost and it's a cloth bench seat the same color. the headliner is that same maroon color. i know that's not what it was originally but hey, it's a start on figuring this out. do you think that maybe if i got a hold of somebody at ford with the info i've got, i could find out the rest of the information about this truck??
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-Mar-02 AT 07:45 PM (EST)]I just read you have the warranty plate.
What are the numbers/letters on the metal part?
That has good info on it that I can decode.
Please type it here as it shows on the plate though.
#= Number
L = letter
F10GREE9314 # L L#
F100 # ##L L
Fill in the blanks please.
