Ooops!..while pulling out what I thought was my antennae wire for the radio from my inner fenderwell, I heard a hissing sound and out came a black and 2 white hoses. All 3 hoses are joined to a common "plug" which must have plugged into something in the passenger side inner fenderwell. It's too dark for me to see now but any guesses what I should be looking for in the morning?
The truck is a 98 F150 SCab 4X4.
Thanks hugepettyfan for the link, it gave me a good place to start. Unfortunately, my hoses went to another cluster, where you have to remove the inner wheel well. Bolted up in the top of the well is, I guess, a vacuum resevoir. If anyone has access to Ford part numbers, F85E-9E453-AA, was stamped on the plastic. Any ways, check engine light is gone, and it is working.

Great thread! My 98 had an accident on that side from a previous owner. When I got it, it had a new fender on it... and now that I think about it, the vacuum tank looked pretty new!
