rebuild steering gearbox??
meaning? they give you as much money for your old gearbox as the new one costs. making me think the old one must be rediculously easy to rebuild...
so now heres my question, anyone rebuilt one of these gearboxes on a late model (88)? i had previously bought the seal kit with intentions of rebuilding it, but after seeing the contents of that seal kit... whoaaaa.. what am i in for? once i get this thing apart, is it going back together? someone let me know the deatails on this rebuild, or should i just buy a new one???? oh yeah, and can i just hammer off the pitman arm??? or do i need a pitman arm remover?
ive always just bashed that kinda stuff with a hammer to get it off, didnt know if that would damage the seal in the gearbox.... though... then again whats it matter if its allready ruined anyways, how many hours should this whole thing take having never done one before?... please help, turning with 35's and no p/s is near impossible, and i have to get to work!! ASAP
