I am going to be installing a xm commander in my 05 f150 with audiophile and was wondering if the headunit will lockout when it is disconnected. i have had stock radios in the past that if the battery died or it was unhooked it locked up and you had to enter a code to unlock it.
I dont think ford has this. I know che** does. We had to call them all the time to find out the code. I dont remember what it is, but it is annoying to have to do that when you are paid by the job. Anyways I dont beleave fords have this. So admit it you had a Che**. You sinner
Just kidding on the sinner thing? .................. I have a trail blazer
F150 shouldn't, Che** does, but ford doesn't. The only Che** at my house (which isn't even at my house, it's at my moms.. well it's her car) is a Caddy.. Everything else is Dodge or Ford..
Short answer is no.. long answer is.. not really.. even long answer is: In my expert opinion, no.
the lock out codes correspondto your vin... the stock radio is some how connect to your cpu and it runs the vin every time it is turned on and plugged in. it should not lock out. if it does local dealer can run scan on your VIn and get the code tounlock it... only takes about 10mins... i did this to a che** i owned a while back put a new 98 headunit intoa 91 s-10 and had them run the vin number of the truck i pulled it off and they gave me the codes...
