Today I saw a Lincoln Blackwood and a F250 Amarillo edition, thought this was rather odd because you hardley ever see a Blackwood, it's been about a year or so since I saw one. First time to see an Amarillo, don't care much for yellow but the one I saw was pretty sweet looking. Anyone else see these beast roaming around?
I've seen one Blackwood, on a used-car lot near Boston. Saw a Mark LT in someones driveway the other day (first one I've seen). Don't think I've ever seen an Amarillo, and from the pics I've seen online, they'd be hard to miss. Guess it's not a Maine thing.
I saw a Mark Lt in a guys driveway last weekend when I went home. It made me smile b/c I know the guy and he use to say he would always drive a bowtie pickup and never a Ford product.
Around here, a blackwood is pretty much only seen in junk yards, its UGLY, and just plan marketed for the thug wannabes who want a cool lookin rig with more room for crap like a bass system.
The amarillo? What the heck is that? I've never heard of it.
i have never heard of either one of them, but then again i dont go around ford dealerships and drool over their stuff. ive got enough stuff to drool over at home!
An Amarillo just from looking at it is very yellow, has different rims, lot's of chrome, and a big Amarillo sicker on the back quarter panels. I am sure there is more to it than that but they are very nice looking. The one I saw was hooked up to a fifth wheel.
There's a few here (Amarillo). Not as uncommon here as where others have stated. Saw one yesterday, had about an 8" lift and 35"s. Damn good lookin truck.
Lincoln built less than 500 of the Blackwoods, and the 2005 Amarillo was only available in the Southwestern states. The 2006 version was available nationwide for about 3 hours after the new-model announcement, then it was discontinued (to be replaced by the returning Harley-Davidson).
...does that make the Blackwood a collectable truck?
Well.....that makes it RARE, but collectible? I once made the comment to a classic-car expert that a certain old vehicle was collectible because of its rarity. He didn't think much of that make, so he just looked at me and grinned. His response?
"Jeff, there are some rare forms of syphilis out there, but that doesn't mean you want to CATCH any of them..."
I worked on one Lincoln Blackwood. VERY nice truck. It had the 5.4 in it. Nice ride, comfortable, lots of power, ect. The interior was done in all blackwood as is the outside trimmed with the black wood.
