96 PSD tranny trouble
Hey people. I've owned a 96 psd since new and put alot of Km's on the thing ( 750,000 ). Even though I have the high mileage,I baby this truck. The only real problems i've had with the truck is the tranny. I got about 310,000 Km before the original tranny let go. After the first rebuild I got about 95,000 Km on the rebuild. I then got about 200,000 Km on the second rebuilt before the torque converter puked out all the fluid, argh. Now it looks as though I have the same torque converter problem again. I don't abuse this truck at all. I would say that most of the mileage on this truck is on I-5 between Vancouver and Portland. Is there any way to make these tranny's more reliable, or should I be investing in something other than OEM. Any help at all would be great. Thanks.
