Spraying.....
Well I decided not to wait until I did the cam swap. Got the bottle filled yesterday and installed the NOS Powershot last night. Install wen't pretty easy. The bottle is currently sitting paralell to the bench seat on the passenger side. There wasn't enough room to put it behind the seat. I put the spray button on the dash and am definetely getting a shifter mounted button from Hurst. Too much of a reach.
Anyway went out this morning to a nice flat stretch of road, made sure there weren't any cops or other motorists around and decided to go for it. Had the Highboy rolling at 50mph in fourth and I hit the button. She really came alive!
Back tires squaked (mud terrains) and then she took off. Fifteen seconds of pure acceleration later I let loose of the button and shoved the stick into neutral. I only have a 100mph speedo and it was pegged, got on the brakes and let me tell ya 6700 lbs of 4x4 is pretty hard to slow down at that speed. Shifted back into fourth to get some engine braking going, then at 60mph I downshifted again to third and finally got back to the legal 45mph limit.
Anybody thinking about spraying their FE, go for it. I put a 125 shot on my 352 that other than a Edelbrock intake, Holley carb, and 10.5:1 compression is stock. Pretty easy to do and offers a lot of bang for the buck.

Keep the bottle filled and it's as permanant as you'd ever want it to be.
Glad to hear nothing broke! I'll bet it put a silly goofy grin on your face, didn't it?
Edit: Nitrous is measured in lbs/minute. A 125hp shot is 5 lbs/minute. So, assuming you have a 10lb bottle, this means 2 minutes. Probably it wont go quite that long, since the pressure will go down before the bottle is completely empty. I'd guess a minute and a half. A pressure gauge would probably be an excellent idea if you dont have one.

I'll be setting up the hooch juice when I get the truck running consistently. I think that is getting close. I'll probably go with one of teh Edelbrock kits that is good for 100-250hp. I'll start with 100, and use it only in 3rd gear at the trac (C6 auto). I've got enough traction issues in 1st and 2nd gear with all motor.
heck, I may just go ahead and order the kit :-)
what's it cost to fill a 10lb bottle?

i dont know but i bet you get alot more laughs for your dollar that buying beer... LMAO.. i think i'm going with the bare bones sniper kit, i dont trust my factorycasst pistons for more than 100 horses or so anyways...
So how much do you think I could run with my TRW-L2291 forged pistons, 941 cam, polished combustion chambers, and headers?

Floor it, hit the button, and try to keep your head from smacking the back window. Power comes on instantly. Didn't mess with the timing at all. Maybe I would have gotten more out of it if I had.
they say 2 degrees retarded for every 50 hp shot.... i got an msd box already so when i go to do it i think i'll buy the timing controller... so ur saying the race helmet may be a good thing? lol i wanna run it when im mud dragging... i wonder how much will sling off the boggers when the the button gets pushed?
What does NOS do to the A/F ratio? Shold I still be looking for that magic near 14 A/F ratio when the hooch hits?
Actually, the local dyno shop said I should be running in the mid 12s for A/F at my comp. ratio.
