Overdrive Cancel Button
Hello,
I am having trouble with the overdrive cancel on my 2001 F250 Super Duty with a 5.4 - trouble is, it doesn't work. I pulled the switch and it checks OK, the fuse is OK if the one under the dash is the only one. Is there anything else I can check? A code scanner also turned up nothing.

Although you don't have fuse problems (yet) the wires that go to the OD switch are probably frayed somewhere. Due to the design, they fray all to easily with use over a few years.

The cable was chopped in two at the base of the shifter. I spliced the three wires back together and taped the heck out of them.
I don't need to use the tilt so maybe this will last awhile. Anyway, I have OD lockout again.
