new guy here!
this is a GREAT site!!! i'm on my forth 78 ford (78 bronco,f150 I300, f150 351m, f150 4x4 460 shortbed) i love these trucks, *wish i would hold on to them longer!* my latest is a 78 f150 2wd 351M 3 spd man trans.

also, can anyone recomend a good aftermarket floorshifter? i only seem to find the cheap chinese ones!

It would be a lot easier if you typed it as it appears on the data plate.

How do you decode the paint color? My data plate says my 78 is paint code G. But my truck is dark brown metallic. There are several odd things about this truck, but I know it came from the dealership this way because my parents bought it new in 78.

You might want to check the data plate again.
The colour should be the first digit(right) after the wheelbase(133).
