Only defrost when using heat or vent
My 96 f-250 5l climate only works on defrost no matter what is selected. Any idea what I need to replace and anybody have a part # or a place online that might have it. I don't have ac.

Default mode is to go to the defrost mode. It sounds like you have lost vacume to the controll head. There should be a black pvc tube that runs in the engine bay by the blower box. check it for cracks, and see if there is vacume at its nearest connector with the engine running. Youl probably be able to track down you vac problem to a deteriorated line.
