Bed interchangability between later models
I was wondering if there is any difference in new truck beds like later 80's compared to these of the 70's...Like could i just drop the bed on and only have to change bolt holes. I am not worried about cosmetics just what i would have to change.....thanks for the help:-X11

yes it will bolt on... the floors are the exact same all the way up until 96... I have looked my lmc book and matched part numbers and the only differnce is the outer skins....

I Second that. If your not worried about body lines matching up, or being the same, you can bolt darn near nay of the new Ford beds on there. I have even seen a few work truck around here like this.

This is interesting... I have just recently been contemplating a later box for my 78 F150. I take it that the wheelbase is the same for all LWB trucks until 96?
Maybe I could just reskin a later box with 73-79 boxsides?
