I'm Looking For 6" To 8" Lift Kit For The X. Was Wondering If Anybody Could Comment On Past Experiences With A Certain Brand. Maybe Comment On Ride And Overall Product Quality. Thanks
Donahoe Racing Is The Best Out There. They Are The Only Ones Who Use Specific Shocks Just For The Excursion. Most Companies Use The Same Shocks Foe Many Different Applications. Warning---they Are Expensive. But The Better Than Stock Ride, And Quality Are Worth It. Oh, And They Are The Easiest To Install....[u]
2 hours ago I picked up my X after having the Donahoe Racing 3" kit and the DR shocks installed (adjustable pan rod bar too). At the same time they installed the Firestone airbags that I had previously purchased...
WOW!!! Huge difference in ride quality and a much more solid feel. I had a slight steering wheel shimmy at freeway speeds that has been eliminated too. So far (only 20 miles) I am very happy with the decision to go with DR.
This weekend the Hellwig rear anti-sway bar and the Landyot Radius-Rods get installed and my suspension should be "fixed"

AT LEAST THERE IS A COUPLE OF US WHO KNOW WHAT QUALITY IS WHEN WE SEE IT. AND THERE IS ALSO SOME OF US WHO VALUE OTHERS OPINIONS AND GO WITH DONAHOE RACING's PRODUCTS FOR OUR FORDS..
Thanks for the info. I've herd good things about donahoe suspension. I think i'll do a search and find some more info on them. I was going to purchase a full blown air bag kit from kelderman airride, but the closer I got to making the purchase the price kept getting out of control. ($8,000 for 7-8 inch lift) I can go lift, weels and tires, and a Banks kit for that $$$.
The Kelderman is an awesome kit. It is a little spendy, but I found mine though a shop in cali for $5500. I plan to install it myself so that saves a little money. I do not know much about the donauhue kit. I hear lots of good things about it, but never seen one.
I finaly purchased the Donahoe kit. Should be here by the end of next week, maybe monday. Got the 7'' kit. Gona put the 37 x 12.50 PJ dirt grips on some 16 x 10's. It should look sweeeeet.

Get the 16x8s strictly for clearance issues on the tie-rod ends.
a 12.50 tire on an 8" rim will look stupid and cup the tire. i have the 37/12.50/17 bfg all terrain ko tires on an set of 17 x 10"s the tire looks and handles awesome. the sidewall is straight not cupped. i dont think anyone should put a 12.50 tire on an 8" rim. no disrespect, it is just my thoughts. and with the 7" lift se should be fine. now it also depends on the backspacing and offset of the rim. he should still go with a 10"rim....

Sorry, but that is NOT true. Show me evidence that an 8" wheel causes this.
1st of all, if you ever air down the 8" wheel will hold the bead MUCH better. 2nd, some 16x10s have clearance issues with the tie-rod ends depending on the backspacing. 17x10 will clear no problem though since you get a 1/2" of clearance on each side of the wheel.
I guess opinions are like *********s.........everyone has one........
that is why i said it depends on the offset and backspacing of the wheel. i think we are on the same page, but have a hard time understanding each other.
i also have aired down to about 11 psi and never had a problem with a tire coming off the bead. and the evidence of an 8" wheel cupping a tire that is almost 13" wide, do the math, it is alot more tread than rim width. if that doesn't explain that right there, i don't know what will. it will pull the ends of the tread in and you will not get the full foot print and contact patch of the tread.
