i also have aired down to about 11 psi and never had a problem with a tire coming off the bead. and the evidence of an 8" wheel cupping a tire that is almost 13" wide, do the math, it is alot more tread than rim width. if that doesn't explain that right there, i don't know what will. it will pull the ends of the tread in and you will not get the full foot print and contact patch of the tread.
Again that is not true. Just because a tire is listed as a 12.5" wide tire, doesn't mean that it is. Your tread pattern is on your BFG is NOT 12.5" wide. Its only 10.5" wide. While yes, a 10" wheel will throw a slightly wider footprint, we're talked about maybe a .25" wider(if that). That will NOT Lead to cupping. Lack of balance and rotation leads to cupping not wheel width.
wrong term used. cupping does refer to a shock, allignment, balance problem. it will pull the edges of the tire down towards the rim. well, what is the reccomended rim width of a 37/12.50/16 or 17? then if i am wrong, then i am wrong, but if i am right, ???????

8-11". But that also depends on the manufacturer of the tire.
Does anybody here have 16 x 10's on a X. And if so, do you know what your back spacing is.Looks like there is a little room for grinding on the tierod end if need be.
But just alittle.

Take your X into the tire place and have them test fit the wheel to make sure it clears. Also, if I were to do mine over again, I would go with a 17x9" wheel. Strictly because there are so many more tire brand offerings in the 17" wheel size. Most 16s don't go over a 35" tire.
Reason I didn't is because I only paid $150/ea for my 37x12.5x16 Irok Radials and couldn't turn that price down.

When I bought the X it came with 18x10's on it. I just cant warm up to them. I like the small wheel look with all the rubber surrounding it(old school). I got the stock spare in it right now, I think it is mounted on a 16. Tomarrow Ill mount it up and check clearences. I ordered the tires and wheels from national tire and wheel, and they asked what the vehicle was. So maybe they took back spacing into account. If they dont work I guess they will be going back or you might see them on ebay. Ill deal with that when they get here next week.

I've dealt with NatlTire before. Good company from my experience.

Thats good to hear. Because if that backspacing isnt right thoes wheels got to go back. Its always nice to deal with a company that understands that kind of stuff.

American Eagle 589. Im already gearing up on the elbo grease to keep thoes things polished. Almost went w/ pro com extrem alloy for the ease of cleaning the chrome.
Got thoes 16x10's and I put one on the truck to check the clearence. So far so good. Theres about a 1/8 inch clearence between the wheel weights and the tie rod end.
