I'm having a hard time finding any answers on how to turn the RSS off temporarily while I back up my boat. I took it to the dealer and their stump too. We put the key in put it in reverse but the message center didn’t confirm that the vehicle had a RSS? The dealer said they would get back to me and I haven’t heard from them yet. Does anyone have any ideas? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
So, when you place the truck in reverse, the Message Center doesn't say "BACKUP AID ON/OFF"? If it doesn't display that, then I have no clue as to what could be the problem. Let us know what the dealer says, I'm curious to know.

You are correct, the only message I get is “reverse mirrors are on or off” then the normal messages; headlight delay, auto door locks, easy out set. No back up aid on or off. The dealer called yesterday and they can’t figure it out. They are going to call fords hot line. I’ll see what happens. I’ll let you know. Thanks for the response, Dan.
2004 EB I posted this a while ago and ford still has not got back to me, so I’m thinking of installing a small micro switch by the beeper and just turning it off temporarily while I’m backing up my boat. I’m a good at going straight but backing upon a Saturday while 20 people are watching you and the back up alarm is going off is a different story. So I figure the less beeping the better.” What do you think? Some one told me about a software update for the message center, anybody else here of that? Thanks, Dan
