oil residue

Have 05, it produces oil on under side of hood toward the rear. Dealer said was not tightening oil cap sufficiently. I have tightened it really tight and still am getting this oil. Besides it was doing it before I made the first oil change. There are 16,000 miles on the truck now and it uses no oil between changes but the residue keeps appearing. Got any suggestions about where it could be coming from?

I haven't had this problem but a buddy of mine did from day one and the dealer replaced the CAC tube under warranty. Hope this helps. He has an 05 king ranch dually.

My '05 was also doing this. Dealer replaced the black plastic CAC tube with an alumumum one. No spray since.

Mine was doing the same thing. The Tech at the dealer showed me the 4 Oil Filter housings he had replaced in the last few months before that, and the poor machining on the inside where the Threads stop abruptly. I told him I had read here and other sites how everyone said it was the CAC Tube. He asked me how many miles do I have on the truck I told him about 2,500, he asked me If I though that much oil had built up in the CAC tube in that many miles. I told him I wouldn't think so and he told only if something was VERY wrong. He replaced the Oil filter housing at about 4,500 miles. The truck now has 27,000 miles and NO oil on the hood!!
