I have picked up a 1986 LTD Crown Vic for power steering pump and brackets. Will the pump work with a ford/sagina gear out of the 70's. I will use the generic box everbody uses. I don't know if it's a diffrent type pump like slipper and if it will work with the sagina box for the 73-79 ford trucks.
I'm putting the pump and pullies on a for 302 with a 3 speed manual out of a van. I was just wondering if the pump is compatibale with the box being diffrent and all.
Most likely, the answer is yes. Ford used the same principles in the later boxes, even though the external design was different for cars and trucks.
You will probably run into hose coupling issues though, but that can easily be overcome at a hydraulic shop.
Thanks that's all I needed to know. Because the pump will run and work properly with the power sterring box. I know there have been diffrences but as long as this will work.
