Is your truck still under warranty? If so stick with oem stuff for now.
Block heater- depending on where you live, Alaska/northern canada or areas that see prolonged sub-zero temps I might consider one.
Depending on your mileage, there is no need to mess with your coolant unless other repairs were made.

Check your owner's manual. The Ford Gold coolant is good for 100k miles in a 6.0 or about 3 years. Have you had the truck that long? Also, unless you are in extreme cold weather (consistantly below 0f), the block heater is not necessarry. It might help to heat the cab a little sooner, thats all.
I am not sure on the coolant I would stay with the OEM type if your not doing a flush . If you plan on flushing the system then any quality coolant should be fine.
As far as the block heater I bought one when I ordered my 96 351W and I think it was the best 22.00 dollars I ever spent. I live in Pa. it gets cold maybe not Alaska cold but cold. I would plug the truck in when I got home and leave it that way until the next day and it made a big differance on start up. I even got heat in a short time.
I had a heater installed on the lower hose of my 77F-250 460 and with the vent on defrost it would keep the window somewhat clean. I don't think you can do that with new trucks because of vacum.
