Component speaker set, installations, and cancellation
Hey guys I'm wondering if speakers (Boston 6" and the tweeter component set) in my Broncos door panels and the 5x9 rears are cancelling each other out. Due to the fact that the speakers face eachother directly. I've been thinking about shimming out one side a little to angle them to the rear. As for the tweeters I could mount those on the center of the dash I could do it on the windshield pillars. now they are mounted in the door panels but are at knee height and pointed directly at eachother.
Thanks guys I'm trying to create a sensible plan to rebuild my truck. The inside is very important because I'd like it to feel like a new truck.
couple of things here
the only way they would cancel each other out is if they are
out of phase of one another(polartiy reversed)-primary issue
if that is not an issue the only other thing you could consider
is if both drivers are aimed at the listener there could be some time alignment differeces --drastic cases can cause a muddy sound--secondary issue
Well they might be cancelling eachother out if they are out of phase with eachother (as brianas said).. I don't think you have time alignment differences that severe. Make sure the polarity of each speaker is right, otherwise it causes some ugly noises, and the bass will sound weak/distorted. Good luck with that, and post up what happens.. thanks.
