Hi again. I just went out and purchased a black 05 fx-4 ranger and had a few quick questions. My last 03 fx-4 had platinum kind of grey colored fender flares, and the 05 has black ones. Have the black ones been on every fx-4 level one since the 04 design change? Also, my 03 had ranger xlt badges...and the 05 does not. Did they stop those badges on the design change date also?? one final question....how hard is it to locate a squeek and rattle noise? Kind of a dub question, but i have a rattle near the trns tunnel around 2,500 rpms and a constant really quiet squeek...thanks for the help...

I have a black 04 FX4 Level II and my fender badges still say Ranger XLT.

hmmmmmm you think i could get the dealer to change them...my invoice says XLT fx-4 but the side emblems do not...

if you're hearing a rattle, it might be the heat shield on the cat converter, those welds can break and the shield will rattle sometimes. a squeaking, I dont know for sure.
