You have to "adjust" the hole in the floor the shifter goes through. When you lift the body, and not the drivetrain, you limit the movement of anything mounted underneath the floor.

Pull up the carpeting and you'll see what I mean.

Yep.

Before you cut, make sure it's interfering there first, of course.

If the lever is hitting, yes.

When you lift the body, you're moving the hole further up, and mechanically that's the equivilent of making it smaller.

I put a body lift on mine with a standard trans. and had the same problem but with both shifters. Instead of cutting the hole bigger I just heated up the shift levers red and rebent them to where i wanted them. This way I could reuse all the factory interior pats and have a very nice looking finish. BTW I removed the shifter from the truck to heat up and bend.

That's the way to do it right there first time 4x4. Course, I am sure a notch on the body would work too. It can't be too far off.

I like the 'BTW'- good advice! Burnt carpet STINKS!

It's probably off an inch. I made the assumption it would be easier to nibble out the opening a little bit, versus torching the handle and bending it.

torch the handle. if you don't it could mess up the travel of the shifter (i.e. hitting the dash or seat) measure twice and bend it once--remove the ****. mine has a bend right at the floor and cutting would not work.
