Exclamation 351 intake manifold

I've got a 1984 f-250 with a 351. Is it a 351W? I began replacing the thermostat on this engine and found that the owner before me had cracked the lower bolt hole on the thermostat housing. he solved this by "J B welding" the housing together , I would rather replace the intake manifold. I've been looking on this forum and others and have found a wide selection of used manifolds that all seem to have slight differences. I have pictures of my manifold and would appreciate any insight into which manifold would fit my engine. It's a 1984 2bbl 351. Thanks

Of the 2 different 351s applicable here, the M has the thermostat in the block, and the W has it in the manifold as you describe so 312 is right, you have a 351W.

JB weld can be a decent fix if done right, but if you're intent on replacing the manifold anyway why not jump up to an aftermarket dual-plane aluminum manifold and 4-barrel carb? There are a lot of good ones out there, new and used. I tend to be partial to Edelbrock when it comes to intake manifolds.

For a truck motor you want a manifold that will keep your power down in the bottom end where you need it, so that's why I recommend a dual-plane manifold. I'd look for one that's spec'd for idle-4500 or thereabouts.
