Excellent film - especially for guys. A little rauchy and rough for the females in my household, but then so is war. Some unexpected humor tossed in at the oddest times - "that's from Vietnam, can't we get our OWN music?" You'll have to see the flick to understand that.
Just came back from seeing. It was good, not a whole lot of action but a load of laughs. Humor surely is thrown in at odd times--"Hey, come over here, I want to show you something, this is my friend....." Overall good movie.
yeah, we saw it yesterday. dad seemed to think that some of that stuff (between marines and officers) is allowed/gotten away with. no, its not allowed, but people get away with it all the time. i told him it probably happens more than he realizes. i know a few guys who have gone through marine/army basic recently...i'm sure that movie is pretty accurate as to the timeframe. but yeah, i liked it, even without a lot of actualy fighting stuff.
I hope it's good... I hope it's at least worth hearing the first 6 lines of that damned song over and over in the commercials that seem to play 4 or 5 times an hour.
Great movie, I saw it Friday night. Very realistic in the way it was written, shows the real side of things. Not a lot of action (or gore in that matter) but I wasn't really going in to see guts flying around. Very well thought out.
