The bellhousing will be different, so you would have to swap a complete engine tranny combo in. Why not just put in a 429/460? They will swap right in aside from motor mounts.
Engine stands from a 300I6, 302, 360/390. You will need them from the respective drive type. 2wd or 4wd, depending on the truck you have (you didn't say).
Exhaust will not match up, you will need to modify or replace.
Throttle linkage is different.
I forget if the radiators are the same or if the inlets/outlets are on the opposite sides.
You will need all the engine brackets for the 390, from a truck 360/390 with the same drive (2wd or 4wd).
This is quickly off the top of my head so I might be missing something, but it will be minor if I am. All the factory parts are out there somewhere, so you won't need to fab anything, it's just a matter of gathering up the parts.
Sorry for the lack of detail the truck I'm doing the swap in is 4wd, and the truck I'm going to take the 390 out of is a 68 F100 4wd. Now would that be an easy swap if I used all of the existing brackets and linkage off of the 68?
I have no clue. Maybe try the engine swap or older truck forum??? I've delt with very little stuff from the older trucks, maybe someone else will chime in.
grabbing all the mounts , brackets ,linkages etc.. from the 68 is a way cool idea.pulling both ingines and then going to work with a tape measure and a pad and pen for comparison notes is helpfull also. another point on the bellhousing is do the trans to bellhousing bolts go through the front of the bellhousing or from the rear? ifd its a manual, bob
