I need a driver's side hood hinge (not the hood springs) for a 49 F-3. I have tried Dennis Carpenter and several other sources with no luck. Does anyone know where I can get a used or repro?
I found a hood hinge from a forum member. I am also watching the Ebay auction for the pair of hood hinges.
Thanks for all the responses.
I need to take some pictures of my son's truck. He is 15 and has a basket case 1950 F-2. We recently found the 1949 F-3 that is nearly complete. It is missing a few mouldings and has some dents, but no rust. We got it for $450 last Wednesday. The 49 is in much better shape than the 50, so we are going to rebuild the 49! Besides the 49 was born the same year as me!! The 6 cylinder engine is froze up. We pulled the head and there is no ridge in any cylinder from wear. Two cylinders have some rust around the valves. We are going to try to free it up and see if we can start it. The truck was last licensed in 1960. I think we are going to have a lot of fun and a lot of father/son bonding time!
Danny, I found a few F-1's in a junkyard in Alamosa, about 3 hours south of you. Mostly old farm trucks, but one had some decent stuff on it, and the prices are cheap. PM me if you want info.
