Hole in my trans cover '52

I'm welding up the "extra" holes in my trans cover, and noticed there is a 5/16" captive nut (caged in sheet metal that's welded to the back side) about an inch and a half above the gas pedal screw holes, with a corresponding ~3/8" hole in the cover. It is clearly for something to screw into from the front (top) side, but I can't think what? My first thought was a kickdown switch for an OD, but these never came with OD. A gas pedal limit stop? There's already a block of rubber molded into the backside of the gas pedal for that.

Any ideas?

Should be a pedal stop. Here's a picture of my 1956.

Dang George, you beat me to it. I just pulled this out of my parts pile and took a picture of it. Sorry about the crud.

Thanks guys! I couldn't find any pictures in the manual.

I notice both of your covers are also rotted at the "corner" where it bends to go up along the firewall, at the base of the gas pedal. That's what I'm working on!

It's a good place for all the water and gunk to collect. Like a lot of other places on these old crates.
