My 95 F150 has start to act weird again. Same problem as last time, within the first 5 minutes after start up on a cold engine it studders like its running out of gas then goes away. I pulled codes the last time and got 122, and replaced the TPS since thats what the code was for. Problem fixed its been fine for one month and 1000 miles. Now its doing the same thing again, for the past 3 days and I get the all pass code of 111. That is on the KOEO test using the jumper wire on the self test input. It also has a new O2 sensor. How long does it take for the computer to develop and save new codes with problems? Any help is great. Thanks Fred
When was the fuel filter last replaced? Have you been keeping the tanks atleast half full?
I live in southern Mi, too, and I know we have had quite a few below freezing nights already. I had my tanks near empty and got alot of moisture in them. I nearly didn't make it to school one morning. I heard that the filters trap moisture in them(by a stone or something) and too much water will choke fuel flow down. I had to replace my fuel filter and it ran fine again.
I last replaced the fuel filter 1 1/2 years ago, prolly about 20,000 miles ago. Maybe I should do it again. The plugs, wires, cap, rotor where all changed then also. The TB is clean and so is the IAC. How often do you guys change your fuel filter? Thanks Fred
If its been a year and a half, I would replace the cap & rotor first.
The wires and plugs are probably good but the cap & rotor wear out much faster.
Cheers,
Tim
ps - Fuel filter once ever 2 or 3 years.
