The reason I ask is I had a run-in with a parking garage cieling. I barley fit through the 7ft. opening but I made it. Alittle further through it got a tad smaller and I had a major clearence problem. It sounded alot worse than it was (just a few minor scratches). The worst part is there was no spots and I had to go back through.
Remember the first rule of driving: ALWAYS KNOW HOW BIG YOUR VEHICLE IS!!
I Measured mine at 6'8" I won't go in anything 6'10" or less. The truck is so long that the front starts to go up the incline way before the back does and I don't want it to crunch it on top of the cab.
If my rig was an inch taller, it wouldn't go in the garage. (Std 7' doors) Stock tire size too. The 350 4x4 is TALL.
7' is the standard Garage door height, and a stock 250-350 is about an inch lower, your right. We have been installing 7' 6'' doors and a few 8' and 9' the last few years just because of this, the cars are getting bigger and taller every year... my 250 completely stock clears the garage door by less than 1/2 an inch, so be careful..
I have 10 iches of lift and 39.5's on a superduty. I am rebuilding it so I havent had the pleasure of parking it yet. This is not the fisrt one I have had like this I had a 3/4 ton chevy that had 15 inches of lift and 44's and I think my sooooper duty is taller. Hey I dont want to get off track but I would like to talk with some guys that have big tires / lifts. Just about gears and how your 7.3's run with what. I do have a gallery of the rebiudl if you want to look.
a few inches taller than stock because i went up 2 sizes on the tires... i drove our stock F350 to rhode island and back a week ago and i noticed i was riding up higher when i drove my mule home..!
